Taking Chances

Has it really been that long since I’ve posted? Jeez.

But in my defense… I’ve been writing! I heard back that my second story will be picked up by TEB. I’m just waiting on the contract now. And just yesterday I subbed another story (the cowboy one, yum!) to them, so keep your fingers crossed.

I’ve started another project. This one is a little more involved and actually looks to be a four-book series, tentatively titled Crossroads. These will have a fantasy/paranormal bent to them which is always fun.

WooHoo! Okay, okay. This is the cover they’re using for the lust bites series… but this one is mine…   And he’s pretty freakin’ hot.

Waiting for a book to release is probably one of the most fun ‘games’ out there. Whether you are the author or a reader, you mark the date in bright red ink, stare at the calendar every day, tap your foot impatiently… or is that just me?

I’ve heard other authors talk about pre-release jitters but… yikes, I had no clue.

Not Anymore is due to be released in September and it’s slowly but surely making its way there. I still have two months to go but I feel like a kid hopped up on sugar waiting for his/her birthday to get here. *grin* I’ve got a few things that I’m going to be doing during that month leading up to the release - like a Story Behind the Story on Ava March’s blog, a small feature on Gaytrix.net, and a blog-radio interview for Total-e-Bound… so I’ll be busy soon. Very busy.

And, despite the nerves, I’ve been good. I’ve kept writing.

I completed Chasing Alex (which is currently on my editor’s desk waiting for either her nod or her trash can *grin*) and I’ve started another – tentatively titled Jack’s Way. That one is about halfway complete and I have an August 15th (self-imposed) deadline.

Distraction is always a great tool for impending jitters, right? LOL.

So, tell me. What do you do to keep busy?

It has been one of those weekends, you know?

Even with two birthday parties on Saturday and Father’s Day on Sunday, I still managed to do a hard push on finishing the second round of edits for Chasing Alex, a short story that I am doing for a submission call at Total-e-Bound. I only have a couple more days before that one has to soar through digital space to my editor, so I’m pretty focused there.

Of course, the next boys showed up the other day, just begging to be written. Jack and Ben. The cowboy and the architect. Yummy. Lots and lots of doing the deed with some drama mixed in somewhere in the back country of Colorado. Should be a good time! lol.

And edits for Not Anymore should be arriving shortly. So I’m gonna be oh-so busy this summer.
